Founded in January 2002, Zhejiang Yuyao Industrial Park is approved and certified by NDRC as a provincial-level development zone in December 2005. The total acreage of land use amounts to 31.6 sq km. 80 km from Beilun Port of Ningbo from the east, 90 km from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport from the West and 20 km from Cross-Sea Bridge of Hangzhou Bay from the north, making the Industrial Park an important component of the Cross-Sea Bridge economy. It is also on the frontline of the city's strategy to "connect to Shanghai and integrate into Yangtze River Delta" while occupying a significant position in Yaozhou Area in the development strategy of Yuci Rigion under the coordination of Ningbo.
More than 2 billion RMB has been invested into the Industrial Park, including land acquisition, aone building, two zones, three riversides, four belts and ten roads* projects and supporting urban facilities such as Yaobei Experiment School, Yuyao No. 2 High School and Yaobei Water Service tenter.
The park has by far introduced over 100 superior industrial projects with a total investment of RMB nearly 10 billion, shaping the three pillar industries of textile fiber, machinery bearings and plastic appliances, including 80 enterprises with over RMB100 million production value, 52 foreign-funded enterprises, 2 listed companies. 34 national high-tech enterprises, 42 China Famous Trademarks and 2 China Top Brands. As a traditional characteristic industry, fur industry has been flourishing, and the China Fur City, with a total investment of RMB320 million, floor area of 87 mu and construction area of 100,000 square meters, has become the largest mink fashion and raw materials trade center at home. Phase One of Fur Industrial Park has been launched, occupying an area of 150 mu with a total investment of RMB 500 million. In the next step, the Park will comprehensively push the development & construction and growth of economic society according to the target of " National New Demonstration Plot for Small-town" and the strategy of "Linkage of Industry and City" .
